John Christopher Chambers, aka John the Revelator, was born March 3, 1986 in St. Louis MO. At the age of 5 John became interest in music as he started to play the drums in church. While growing up in church he became interested in preaching the Word. He would go home and record himself preaching messages out of a Children’s Bible book. During this time he hadn’t given his life to God, but he loved God and knew he no longer wanted to play around in church. Realizing that God was calling him to a higher place in Glory, the Lord dealt with John in dreams and through his creativity. He would write about what God showed him in dreams and visions. At the age of 11, John began to rap with his best friend Tim McCoy, aka the N-A-Cessa. John and Tim then formed the gospel rap group Heaven Sent Souljas and started performing around the St. Louis Metropolitan area. At the age of 13, John dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Spirit at Faith Miracle Temple (FMT).

John became heavily involved in the youth group at FMT. John began to preach at the age of 16 and became the Assistant Youth Minster at FMT at the age of 21 currently acting as the youth choir Director. Chambers ministers at various church congregations in the St. Louis area through music and preaching the Word, with his latest message being titled, “I Am Fearless”. 

John became John the Revelator in the year of 2006 after hearing a heart stirring message from his Pastor about John the Apostle. The message spoke about how John was alone and God started to speak to him. John, the Apostle wrote to the church what God had revealed to him. At that moment, John knew that was his purpose in ministry. God began to share His heart with John, and as he prayed he received songs from God.  He began to write the things he saw in the church and in the world that needed to be addressed. May 31, 2009 the Revelation EP solo project was release. It addressed the sinner and the saint. July 25, 2009, Life 101 was released, and people are continuously being blessed by the revelation of Jesus Christ.  Plans are in the making for this album to be re-released in 2010. The album will be titled Life 101: Live including re-vamped versions of original songs plus additional tracks .

John the Revelator is known for his calm persona and smooth worship lyrics.  He utilizes a style of rap that he likes to call “Smooth Worship”, which combines the essence of rap with a worshipful melody.  John defines the word “rap” as “Rhythm and Prophetic”, which is captured in his Smooth Worship style.  John the Revelator hopes to change the view of gospel rap in the eyes of the church body, the secular music industry, and the world.

As an entrepreneur, Chambers is the founder and owner of JTR Ministries. JTR Ministries provides Christian services in the area of drum tracks, Smooth Worship beats, graphic designs, flyers, video presentations and much more. 

John Chambers was happily married in October 2009. He shares his dream with wife, Crystal and son DeVonte'.
