Starting out by writing lines along the notes from his classes, J Alan made the decision one day to give this hip hop thing a try.
His first album, "Not Quite A Rock Star," an independent adventure in music, was released in late 2006. J Alan is currently working on his sophomore endeavor, "Bring Your Game Face."
J Alan tries to infuse a mix of humor and serious lyricism within his music. He'd rather see you smile than your hands in the air (but he'll take both).
He's not a thug. He's not a G. He's not a pretender. He's just a young man with a message and a voice.
Big ups to all the scratch paper poets out there. The ones who write their heart out on anything they can find. Been there, still that.
