About Brotha Taleb
Listen to the lyrics and feel the spirit behind the music of gospel rapper Brotha Taleb. It is easy to see that he is indeed anointed. A native of Ohio, Brotha Taleb was originally born in a Muslim family but is proud to say that in 1989 he converted to Christianity.
The music gift in his life was evident as early as 8th grade. He could rap as a young kid and his skills made him shine among his peers.
In college, Brotha Taleb was in two different secular rap groups and began performing on stage. “I bought a keyboard with a drum machine in 2001 and started making beats. I then started writing lyrics to all the beats I made. I realized I had a gift. Sick of tired of being sick and tired, I stopped making secular music. In 2004, I made my own decision, and got baptized in Jesus name and received the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Jesus is real and I know that He is real, because I found out for myself”, says Brotha Taleb.
“I have many testimonies. One testimony that brought me to Christ is that Jesus saved my biological father from a crack addiction. His crack addiction went away forever after his first time at the altar in 1989. He never used drugs again. In that same year of 1989, the church sent our family of 4 to the poor country of Haiti. We helped to build schools and churches, and I learned a second language. My father went home to be with the Lord in March 2009. I know he is proud of me. I have come such a long way in Christ”, declared Brotha Taleb.
God’s hand is upon Brotha Taleb in a mighty way. The future is bright. The Christian rap music ministry and industry needs someone like him. He is a new refreshing voice refusing to compromise with the world. “I am walking in victory”, says Brotha Taleb.
In 2005, he began writing for Christ and ministered his first song at an outside revival. He moved to Washington in 2007 and has been able to minister in gospel rap at his church. Brother Taleb attends Bethel Christian World Outreach Ministries under the covering of Bishop, Dr. Michael R. Williams Jr.
The word of God is a foundation for Brother Taleb’s ministry. He began to learn about who Jesus really is. He got the personal revelation that Jesus is God. God delivered him from different strongholds. That marked a divine turnaround in his life in ways that he never thought were possible.
“I have many more personal testimonies. My testimonies, my Bishop's teachings, and the Holy Bible are where I build the foundation for my music”, says Brotha Taleb. Saved and baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost, Brotha Taleb has a passion for God that takes gospel rap to a new level. He has what the gospel rap industry has been missing. He speaks boldly and stands firm on the name of Jesus. After all is said and done, Brotha Taleb's focus is to win souls for Christ!
On his debut cd “Holy Ghost Fire” a 12 track full-length album delivers a series of passionate gospel rap performances celebrating and sharing the glory of God's Kingdom. Recorded in Olympia, Washington, this project clearly radiates spirit-filled musical testimonies and the power of the Living Word. These songs exhume a passion for God that takes gospel rap to a new level. He has featured artists namely, Minister Makeiths Davis, S.O.G, Robert Junior, Minister Kimberly Bey and All 4 Christ.
The musical expertise of this project is spectacular. Excellent writing skills and punchy drums. It’s not the usual hip-hop tracks you have on the radio. This is heavenly inspired.
Brotha Taleb, husband, father, songwriter and minister of gospel music has touched many lives with his message. He recognizes that all he does is because of the anointing of God. “I am not apologetic on what I do. I want people to know that Jesus Christ transforms lives”, says Brotha Taleb. Enjoy “Holy Ghost Fire”.
